Job Summary
The HR Manager plays a critical role in executing day-to-day HR operations while serving as a trusted partner to senior leadership. This position is responsible for managing core HR functions, supporting business objectives, and driving employee engagement initiatives. The role reports directly to the VP of Human Resources and provides leadership oversight for the Receptionist, Office Services Manager, and employee events.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic HR Leadership & Business Partnership
o Partner with senior leadership to support workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, succession planning, talent development, and employee engagement initiatives.
o Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders regarding employee relations, performance management, compensation, conflict resolution, and organizational challenges.
o Support leadership development efforts and help align HR strategies, programs, and policies with business objectives and company culture.
o Foster an open-door environment that promotes communication, collaboration, accountability, and employee engagement.
• HR Operations & Employee Relations
o Oversee daily HR operations, including employee relations, onboarding, offboarding, policy administration, benefits administration, payroll support, HRIS management, and personnel records.
o Serve as the primary escalation point for employee concerns and workplace issues.
o Conduct workplace investigations involving employee complaints, misconduct, policy violations, and other employment-related matters.
o Manage performance management processes, talent reviews, corrective actions, and employee development initiatives.
o Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and proper maintenance of employee records and personnel data.
• Compliance, Compensation & Risk Management
o Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
o Oversee and manage compliance programs and required reporting, including EEO, AAP, VETS-4212, ACA, and other employment-related filings.
o Develop, maintain, and administer HR policies, procedures, record retention practices, and organizational documentation.
o Assist with compensation administration, salary benchmarking, market analysis, and job structure reviews.
o Monitor HR metrics, audits, reporting requirements, and department budget performance.
• Culture, Administration & Organizational Support
o Lead initiatives that promote employee engagement, recognition, retention, and workplace culture.
o Manage the annual Open Enrollment process and support administration of employee benefits and retirement programs.
o Provide direct oversight of the Receptionist/front office function, Office Services Manager, and manage employee engagement activities, including the Staff Events Committee.
o Partner with Health and Safety personnel to support workplace safety initiatives, emergency response planning, office closures, and employee communications.
o Support employee mobility, relocation, visa administration, and other workforce-related programs as needed.
o Stay informed on emerging HR trends, employment law developments, and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field required.
• Professional certification (e.g., SHRM, CPP, CPM) is a plus.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive HR, leadership, supervisory, or HR management experience.
• Strong background in employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, compensation, talent management, and HR operations.
• Experience supporting senior leadership and influencing business decisions.
• Experience in multi-state employment environments preferred.
• Paycom experience strongly preferred.

Pay Range
Estimated Salary Range: $80K - $100K annually (DOE)

It involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while using a computer, with intermittent standing or walking for meetings and presentations.
