Description

Cobble Hill Health Center is seeking an experienced and driven Controller to oversee and manage all financial operations within our skilled nursing and healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong healthcare finance knowledge, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while ensuring financial integrity and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations
  • Monitor cash flow, banking relationships, and financial controls
  • Coordinate audits and work closely with external auditors and consultants
  • Analyze financial data and provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership
  • Supervise and mentor accounting and finance staff
  • Assist with reimbursement analysis and healthcare-related financial reporting
  • Maintain internal controls and implement process improvements where necessary
  • Collaborate with department leaders to support operational and financial goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experience
  • Healthcare experience required
  • Nursing home or long-term care experience preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare financial operations, budgeting, and reporting
  • Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and reimbursement processes preferred
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
