This Social Media Producer position leads the transition from broadcast focused newsrooms to multi-platform newsrooms through active daily example; creating/editing original content beyond that which is produced for on-air.

Job Description:

• Expert understanding of Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, and other social media platforms
• Uses our social media and website to build and reinforce brand recognition 
• Collaborates with reporters on story construction and publication
• Shoots and edits content for digital
• Finds new ways to engage viewers through social media
• Reviews copy and will correct errors in content, grammar and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines
• Gathers information about events through research, interviews, experience, or attendance at political, news, sports, artistic, social, or other functions
• Pitches on-brand local and trending stories 
• Ensures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality
• Builds and calendars digital campaigns to promote local shows and specials
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:

• Social media reel
• Experience/education in journalism  
• Proficiency in Premier Pro, Photoshop, Canva, Capcut, Dreamweaver, and Basic HTML preferred
• Highly motivated and able to work independently while meeting deadlines
• Maintains positive work environment through active team participation and cooperation with co-workers in all departments
• Responds positively to feedback
