Job Title: Steel Fabrication Design Manager | Structural Design Manager

A Steel Fabrication company is seeking for a talented and experienced Design Manager to lead our design team and play a critical role in the success of our steel fabrication projects. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the design process, from initial concept development through fabrication and construction. You will work closely with the engineering, sales, and production teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of design professionals, including drafters and engineers.
• Develop and implement design standards and procedures for steel fabrication projects.
• Work with clients and architects to develop project specifications and ensure designs meet their requirements.
• Create detailed fabrication drawings and models using CAD software (e.g., Tekla Structures, Autodesk Advance Steel).
• Evaluate and select materials and manufacturing methods to optimize cost and performance.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure structural integrity and constructability of designs.
• Review and approve shop drawings and other technical documents.
• Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring completion on schedule and within budget.
• Identify and implement opportunities for improving design efficiency and quality.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in steel fabrication.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in steel fabrication design, ideally in a similar role.
• Expert proficiency in relevant CAD software (e.g., Tekla Structures, Autodesk Advance Steel).
• Strong understanding of structural steel design principles and fabrication methods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
