Brief Description |
The Multimedia Learning Developer is responsible for: - Using various development tools to create and maintain online education and marketing activities that meet the needs of pathologists and laboratory professionals.
- Conformance to technical and regulatory standards set by CAP Learning in development of course materials.
- Support virtual events production and delivery using various using virtual event technology such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.
- Selection and implementation of optimal applications and tools to develop education materials that fulfill design requirements.
- Researching and testing new tools and methods to improve development process and outcomes.

Specific Duties |
Primary duties and responsibilities: Multimedia Development - Develop online education activities and marketing materials using CAP standard software programs (ie, Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, RealizeIt adaptive learning platform, and other Multimedia development tools) and templates as needed.
- Take training on other design and development tools/concepts as needed to enhance online learning activities.
- Ensure online education activities are compliant with CAP standard templates and procedures.
- Ensure quality control of assigned projects including valid coding functionality, accuracy to storyboard content, and completeness of online activities prior to release.
- Understand different online learning technologies and select the most appropriate tools and templates to meet design, technology, and data requirements.
- Apply current learning standards and best practices, including layout, navigation, browser-compatibility, usability, and accessibility.
- Ensure online education activities are compliant with SCORM standards (if applicable) and that the required data is reported to the LMS or other method(s).
- Develop, test, troubleshoot and maintain adaptive learning courses on the new machine learning-driven platform (RealizeIt).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
- Create multimedia assets (eg, graphics, audio, video, etc.) as described in design documentation.
- Produce (plan, record, edit, publish) new learning videos and audio podcasts per business needs.
- Edit recorded videos of live events such as Annual Meetings, Webinars, Live Workshops for repackaging for online learning modality.
- Manage and maintain video and audio hosting service accounts such as Vimeo; provide analytics and reports to CAP stakeholders as needed.
- Create and maintain content design templates and other documentation.
- Manage content and act as an administrator for the CAP video streaming platform.
Technical Support and Maintenance - Troubleshoot/resolve issues as needed by testing, identifying issues, researching solutions and/or seeking help from software support.
- Maintain online activity versioning including final source files and published SCORM files for the LMS and network storage.
- Act as the primary consultant for the Multimedia authoring tools to the CAP staff (instructional designers, education managers, others).
Virtual Events Production and Delivery - Conformance to technical and regulatory standards set by CAP Learning in development of course materials.
- Collaborate with CAP staff and members to plan, produce, support, and deliver virtual events including webinars and in-person events.
- Work with staff to troubleshoot virtual event technology (eg, Zoom, Teams, etc.)
- Ensure a high-quality audience and presenter experience by overseeing video, audio, and streaming quality.
- Collaborate with staff and members to manage the dress rehearsal/run-through for events, making recommendations on flow and format best practices, and provide guidance to speakers, moderators, and staff.
- Manage live Q&A, polling, and audience engagement during events (if required).
- Communicate effectively with all event stakeholders to keep them informed throughout the event life cycle.
Team Collaboration - Proactively consult with others (eg, instructional designers, marketing staff, etc.) on new designs and develop mock-ups and prototypes based on design requirements.
- Collaborate with CAP Learning and other CAP Staff to ensure timely delivery of high-quality education events/activities.
- Plan and manage time to meet deadlines and produce high quality deliverables.
- Collaborate with LMS administrator and evaluation staff to ensure data/completion requirements for online education activities are being met.

Technical - Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products.
- Articulate 360 Suite (Studio, Storyline, Rise, Review).
- Adobe Photoshop, Techsmith SnagIt, Microsoft Photos app, or other image editing software.
- Adobe Audition, Audacity, or other sound editing software.
- Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Articulate Replay, or other video editing software.
- Screen recording/simulation software such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Peek, SnagIt.
- Mobile responsive Mulitmedia authoring tool such as Articulate Rise.
- Proficiency in virtual program setup, production, delivery in multiple platforms (ie, Zoom, Teams, GoTo, ON24).
- Knowledge of basic HTML using Adobe Dreamweaver, Microsoft Notepad, or other HTML editors.
- Knowledge of SCORM , Google analytics, and xAPI reporting analytics standards to gather data from educational content.
- Familiarity with LMS/LCMS/LRS.
- Familiarity with website/web page development (HTML5, CSS, Javascript)

Education/Experience |
Education - Baccalaureate degree required.
- Emphasis in a relevant discipline strongly preferred (eg, Visual Communications, Graphic Design, Computer Science, etc.).
Experience - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a professional environment, with skills and technologies outlined in the Technical section.
- The ideal candidate also has experience with developing multimedia for an adult audience, online learning usability principles, online course development, and multimedia development tools.
- Experience with mobile development/delivery of education a strong plus.
