Summary
The Senior Investment Accountant will take charge of the day-to-day accounting and reporting function for the company's closed- and open-ended funds. In addition to accounting responsibilities, the Sr. Investment Accountant will provide the direct and indirect tax information to the service providers, manage the capital call/distribution process, own the intercompany loans, and assist in the annual audit and budget reporting processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Day-to-day accounting and reporting for the company's closed-ended value add and open-ended core+ funds
- Performing the monthly close for the Holdco’s within the fund structures.
- Preparing the balance sheet reviews; analyzing all balance sheet accounts ensuring propriety of balances.
- Coordinating financial information from third-party property managers and local accounting teams across multiple countries, reviewing results for accuracy and proper accounting classification before uploading and consolidating them into Yardi Voyager.
- Conducting periodic reconciliations between local GAAP financial information and the financial data prepared under US GAAP or IFRS standards in Realterm’s Yardi Voyager.
- Providing details for direct and indirect tax filings to service providers and reviewing tax reports from an accounting perspective.
- Setting up, maintaining, and booking intercompany loans within the fund structure.
- Calculating, booking, and reconciling property-level asset management fees, leasing commissions, and settling intercompany balances.
- Assisting in the preparation of interim and year-end accounting reports and taking the lead in the preparation and provision of working papers for the year-end audit.
- Recording property acquisitions and dispositions.
- Supporting the property investment and asset management teams in understanding property-specific accounting and tax issues.

Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Excel;
- Experience with the Yardi system is a significant asset;
- Team player who is also able to work on their own;
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to communicate with all staff and executive levels within the organisation;
- Keen sense of curiosity and independent problem solving;
- Willing to travel;
- Strong understanding of the application of IFRS and US GAAP and investment accounting principles.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor in Accounting or related field;
- 3+ years of experience in private equity fund accounting
Work Environment
The position will work in a general office setting and may require travel, up to 10% of time annually, to other Realterm locations based on organizational/business needs.
Physical Demands
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for most of the workday, sitting at a desk, consistently operating a computer. The person in this position must be able to access file cabinets and office machinery (to include a computer, copier, and fax machine). On occasion, may need to lift boxes of up to 4.5 kg.
