Description
We are seeking an exceptional UK Sales Manager to lead and inspire a regional sales team while continuing to operate as a high-performing individual contributor. This hybrid player–coach role requires strong leadership, deep sales acumen, and the ability to drive substantial new business growth across UK primary and secondary schools. You will manage a team of three, set clear expectations, support their development, and lead by example through your own regional revenue delivery.
In This Role You Will:
Sales Leadership & Team Management
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and best‑practice sharing to support the development of Sales Representatives.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, territory reviews, and joint sales calls to build capability and ensure consistent execution.
- Model best-in-class sales behaviours, including prospecting discipline, effective qualification, objection handling, and deal strategy.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Individual Contributor Sales (Regional Ownership)
- Personally own and grow a defined UK region, meeting or exceeding an individual sales quota.
- Build trusted relationships with multi-academy trusts, school leaders, digital learning leads, and key decision-makers.
- Use a consultative approach to diagnose customer needs and recommend the right Discovery Education solutions.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead qualification through to close.
Market & Product Expertise
- Maintain expert knowledge of Discovery Education’s product suite, competitive landscape, and emerging EdTech trends.
- Confidently engage school and MAT stakeholders in conversations about digital transformation, pedagogy, and strategic priorities.
- Leverage insights from UK schools and MATs to inform sales strategy and campaign planning.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure compliance with all contracting, pricing, and procurement processes.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasting, pipeline hygiene, and account notes in Salesforce.
- Support handover to SSA team to ensure schools experience a seamless onboarding journey.
Internal Partnership & Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with Marketing, School Success, and Product teams to maximise lead generation, improve conversion, and support customer success.
- Represent the UK field team in internal planning conversations, sharing insights to help shape campaigns, messaging, and territory strategies.

- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal skills; confident presenting to senior school leaders and MAT executives.
- Customer Focus: Deep empathy for educators and ability to build long-term, trust-based relationships.
- Problem-Solving: Strong strategic thinking and ability to navigate complex school and MAT buying processes.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving market needs.
- Technical Proficiency: Confident using Salesforce and other sales technologies.
- Education Sector Knowledge: Understanding of the UK school system, MAT structures, curriculum priorities, and EdTech adoption trends.
Credentials and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in B2B or education sales, ideally within EdTech or a related sector.
- Proven success in both individual quota-carrying and team leadership roles.
- Experience selling complex or consultative solutions to senior decision-makers.
- Strong understanding of UK school procurement and MAT decision-making.
- Valid UK driver’s licence
- Ability to travel regionally approximately 50% of the time
- Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
This role is designed to be remote.
