Description

Duties and Responsibilities
Incumbent may perform any combination of the tasks listed below:

  • Assists in development and maintenance of standards-compliant websites and landing pages using HTML, CSS and other appropriate applications and software.
  • Assists in production of email and web templates, and static and animated banners.
  • Performs a variety of tasks relating to front-end web and multimedia support including but not limited to Canva, Frontify, Adobe Creative Suite, converting mock-ups of websites to a working webpage with valid codes, and conducts cross-browser testing and implementation.
  • Uses content management systems for posting content, photos, videos and other materials to the website.
  • Utilizes various applications to create web and multimedia projects in support of CTA campaigns and initiatives.
  • Assists in the creation of interfaces, animations, graphics and videos.
  • Creates custom web pages and other materials using new and existing templates.
  • Assists with day-to-day management of CTA websites, including the posting of routine changes and updating copy and materials.
  • Creates, develops and produces copy materials for use on all CTA websites, CTA-supported websites and other projects.
  • Assists with maintenance of CTA's digital asset management system, including file organization, tagging, and user access support.
  • Supports email and text messaging campaigns by building, formatting, testing, and proofing messages in platforms such as Action Network, Salesforce, and Hustle.
  • Supports digital campaign coverage during contract campaigns, strikes, political campaigns, and other rapid-response moments.
  • Designs graphics and visual assets in Canva for social media, email, web, and print, working from existing brand templates and formatting new layouts as needed.
  • Edits video content for digital platforms using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, including cutting, captioning, motion graphics, and basic color and audio adjustments.
  • Provides production support for Soapbox video campaigns, including coordinating member submissions, processing and editing video clips, and assembling final assets for distribution. 
  • Edits and proofreads a variety of documents, including website and video content with attention to grammar, punctuation, spelling and style.
  • Understands the use of website and search analytics.
  • Researches, suggests and helps to implement new website and social media topics to improve the user experience by keeping abreast of changes in technology.
  • Uses appropriate research tools and systems.
  • Arranges meetings and conferences, prepares materials for duplication and performs other logistical duties as assigned.
  • Prepares, compiles, and maintains files, reports and records as needed.
  • Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree & 1 year relevant experience, or Associate degree & 3 years relevant experience or High School diploma/GED & 6 years relevant experience.
  • Experience and strong knowledge of current web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) and visual development frameworks and software (WordPress, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
  • Knowledge of current and commonly used web trends, resources and multimedia concepts and practices, including Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management systems (Frontify or similar), email and text messaging platforms (Action Network, Salesforce, Hustle, or similar), and social media platforms.
  • Experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, including basic motion graphics, captioning, and color and audio adjustments.
  • Proficiency in Canva, including working with brand templates and designing original layouts for social, email, web, and print.
  • Demonstrated support for racial, social, and economic justice; workers' rights; and a well-funded public education.
  • Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of the job.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise planning, coordinating and follow through skills as applied to large complex logistical projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with fellow employees, leadership and management in a complex interdependent organization structure.
  • Ability to learn and communicate CTA structure, policies, and procedures.
  • Computer proficiency and the ability to learn and use the Association’s software programs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and consistency.
  • Able to work overtime as needed.
  • Able to travel as needed.

* This position is in a bargaining unit represented by CAS. Salaries are established by a collective bargaining agreement. Step placement is also determined by the CTA/CAS Agreement.
