The Opportunity

McElhanney is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for an Invoicing Clerk / Accounting Administrator to join our fast paced and collaborative Calgary office. In this role, you will provide essential administrative and financial support to divisions across the branch. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who can anticipate team requirements and work closely with managers to help keep operations running smoothly. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast paced and collaborative environment, demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills and be motivated to contribute to both project and financial success. This is an in person position based in our Calgary Office with opportunity to work from home a few days a week.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide administrative and operational support to divisions within the Calgary office.
  • Review, prepare, and issue client invoices with a strong focus on accuracy and timely entry into the system.
  • Compile Work in Progress (WIP) reports to support monthly invoicing and financial requirements.
  • Prepare reports to support ongoing project administration.
  • Track and monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable to support financial accuracy and cash flow management.
  • Assist project managers with project controls, financial tracking, analysis, and forecasting.
  • Coordinate project setup and closure activities within the system to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
  • Perform additional project-related tasks as required to support the team.

What You’ll Bring

  • 0–5 years of office experience in invoicing, administrative support, or a related role.
  • Completion of a formal accounting program is considered an asset.
  • Intermediate understanding of accounting principles is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, particularly Excel, Teams, and other related tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with strong organizational, multitasking, and proofreading skills.
  • Able to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining punctuality.
  • Professional and personable demeanor, with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

What Can We Offer You?

The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
