Description

Te Tūranga | About the role:

This Operations Training Partner role plays a key part in building capability and supporting operational excellence across our 6000+ strong workforce.

Working closely with site leadership, Training Coordinators (STCs) and the Training Design Advisor, you’ll lead the development, coordination, and delivery of training that ensures our people have the skills and confidence to perform at their best. Your focus will be on embedding consistent ways of working, supporting onboarding and upskilling, and driving continuous improvement in how training is delivered across the site.

You’ll act as the key connector between operational priorities and workforce capability, ensuring training aligns with site needs, systems, and processes. From developing practical training materials through to supporting on-the-job learning, coaching, and competency frameworks, your work will be critical to maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-performing operation.

Some “real” examples of the kinds of work you’ll deliver include:

  • You’ll play a critical role in the design and delivery of the Operations capability programme, shaping what our people are trained, assessed, and credentialed against so the workforce’s skills genuinely match what the business needs.
  • You’ll get out on the floor, visiting sites to identify capability gaps firsthand, building trusted relationships with frontline leaders, and translating what you see into practical solutions.
  • You’ll build and continuously refine the training models, systems and processes that drive lasting success, including leading AUS-Meat and NZQA credentialling.

This is a permanent role based at our Dunedin or Christchurch Hubs. Due to the nature of the role, a willingness to travel to our sites across NZ is a must – you’ll be a visible on-site presence to effectively support teams and deliver training where it matters most.

Ōu Pūkenga | About You:

You are an experienced training, learning, or capability professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams in fast-paced environments.

You bring a practical, hands-on approach and are confident engaging with frontline teams and leaders to build capability, embed learning, and support performance improvement.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Proven experience in training, learning & development, or capability roles within manufacturing, processing, or operational environments
  • Experience designing and delivering training for frontline or shift-based teams
  • Strong ability to translate operational processes into practical, easy-to-understand training
  • Experience supporting onboarding, upskilling, and competency development frameworks
  • Confidence working with leaders and teams to identify capability gaps and solutions
  • Understanding of safe work practices in industrial environments
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in learning, HR, operations, or a related field

Key attributes we’re looking for:

  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to influence, engage, and build trust with frontline teams
  • Confident communicator who can simplify complex information
  • A practical, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset
  • Passion for developing people and lifting team capability
