Description

Under the direction of the Manager, this position performs work of substantial responsibility in support of Corporate Security operations and oversight of the Security Program. Evaluates and assesses incoming incident material and redirects as necessary, investigates assigned security incidents, manages contract staff, conducts inspections, identifies potential problem areas and provides technical advice. Coordinates the operations of the Security Program, provides executive driving services when required.

  • Responds to incoming security incidents by conducting detailed evaluations, assessments and investigations of incident facts, evidence and material and enters further information into the online incident management system. Initiates confidential executive management level notifications to appropriate parties and assigns incident examinations to investigative staff as necessary.
  • Assists in managing Security Programs. Manages processes for the installation, maintenance, repair and testing of security devices (surveillance, alarm monitoring, etc.) and creation of security procedures.
  • Reports crimes to law enforcement. Works with law enforcement on the response to crimes and manages the process of evidentiary information flow. Acts as law enforcement liaison to local, state, federal and foreign law enforcement agencies and prosecutorial entities. Follows up on subpoenas and provides court testimony on behalf of Bank of Hawaii. Assists in providing training presentations to employee groups. Promotes security awareness and understanding of current fraud schemes and mitigation methods. Assists in providing vulnerability assessments that result in providing physical security recommendations and assures compliance with federal regulatory guidelines.
  • Executes the Management Protection Plan. Oversees physical security and personnel access control during board meetings, executive functions, and executive offices during elevated threat conditions and special support services for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Oversees the physical protection program for executive residential locations and responds to alarm conditions at certain executive residences and coordinates law enforcement response if required. Oversees contract security operations and security staff supplied by security vendors in concert with executive management protection. Maintains knowledge base and resources relative to executive protection issues and assists with communications (awareness type training) to executives and their support staff regarding potential threats and possible responses. Monitors executive transit needs and provides driving service when needed.
  • Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. with additional exposure to formal training in the use of computer equipment and applications.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a security officer, military police officer or law enforcement officer, or a similar position involving extensive public contact. Minimum of 2 years in lead or supervisor capacity and/or at least one year of investigative or related experience is required.
  • Conceptual knowledge of alarm monitoring; access control; Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) equipment operation; and fire reporting systems, software and applications. Must be able to qualify for and maintain basic first aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) operation certification.
  • Ability to control uncooperative subjects, analyze information and draw logical conclusions, work effectively under highly stressful conditions, interpret and act upon moderately difficult written information, rapidly prioritize a variety of tasks and take appropriate action. Must possess a valid driver’s license and operate a limousine type vehicle reasonably. Must be able to work flexible work schedules, irregular hours, holidays, weekends, call-out, overtime and available for 24 hour on-call support.
