Description

POSITION SUMMARY — Perform HR duties on a professional level and work closely with senior HR management in supporting the company. Carry out responsibilities in all functional areas of HR including recruitment/employment, employment law, I-9 administration, benefits administration, employee relations, training and development, performance management, compensation, policy implementation, and legal compliance. WORK ENVIRONMENT — Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in establishing and managing internal and external training programs for leadership
  • Conduct recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees
  • Monitor career-pathing program
  • Attend career fairs as needed
  • Write and update job descriptions as needed
  • Ensure compliance with Form I-9 and conduct periodic audits of form I-9s
  • Contribute to the compensation program, monitor market changes, and propose updates to the wage schedules
  • Perform benefits administration including assistance with benefits open enrollment processes, ACA reporting and coding, claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, enrollment into plans, and communicating benefits information to employees
  • Handle employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing
  • Maintain and administer programs such as fitness reimbursement, referral bonus, employee anniversary program, tuition assistance, and apprenticeship programs
  • Participate in unemployment fact-findings and appeals
  • Perform miscellaneous payroll functions such as child support garnishments, etc.
  • Maintain HRIS records and compiles reports from the HRIS system
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars
  • Manage employment vendor relationships and track contingent employees and reconcile invoices for services provided by employment vendors
  • Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals
  • Assist with termination processes
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers
  • Support the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings

  • Clear understanding of the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle processes (Sourcing, attracting, recruiting, interviewing, and on-boarding)
  • Strong vendor manager skills related to recruitment activities such as search firms, community outreach programs, and job boards
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field preferred

Experience: Three or more years of experience in Human Resources preferred

Computer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy, Proficient using Microsoft Office; Strong understanding of the HRIS system

Certificates & Licenses: SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification preferred
