Inside Sales Support Representative

Company: City Build Utility Supply
Location: Houston, TX
Position Type: Full-Time

Work Hours 7:30am-4:30pn Monday thru Friday (1-hour unpaid lunch)

Position Summary

City Build Utility Supply is seeking a motivated and customer focused Inside Sales Support Representative to join our team. This position is responsible for supporting outside sales representatives, assisting customers with product inquiries, preparing quotes, processing orders, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout the sales process. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and experience in industrial, utility, construction, or building material supply environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with product inquiries, pricing, availability, and order status.
  • Generate and process customer quotes, sales orders, and purchase orders.
  • Provide administrative support to outside sales representatives.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Follow up on open quotes and customer requests.
  • Enter and maintain accurate customer and order information in company systems.
  • Resolve customer concerns and provide timely solutions.
  • Support inventory inquiries and product availability checks.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for additional sales and customer growth.
  • Maintain knowledge of company products, pricing, and industry trends.
  • Prepare sales reports and documentation as requested.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through professional communication and service.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of inside sales, customer service, or sales support experience preferred.
  • Experience in utility supply, construction materials, industrial distribution, plumbing, electrical, waterworks, or building products is highly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with ERP systems, order entry, or inventory management software preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Skills

  • Utility supply or construction industry knowledge.
  • Bid and quote preparation experience.
  • Customer account management.
  • Inventory and product knowledge.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
