Job Description Summary
The Accounting Assistant supports GE HealthCare’s accounting and financial routines, contributing to the quality of information, compliance with internal policies, and timely close activities. This role supports activities such as journal entries, account reconciliations, document organization, and audit support, while interacting with cross-functional teams to ensure data consistency and traceability within the ERP system.Job Description
- Support accounting routines, ensuring proper recording, review, and organization of documents and information in compliance with internal policies and control requirements.
- Assist with the validation and reconciliation of journal entries, balances, and accounting transactions, supporting basic analysis and corrections under team guidance.
- Provide support for the month-end close process, including the preparation of reconciliations, reports, and supporting evidence according to the close calendar.
- Maintain up-to-date controls, files, and supporting evidence for audits, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
- Support the extraction and validation of accounting data in systems (ERP), contributing to consistency, traceability, and proper organization of information.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by supporting process standardization, documentation, and operational efficiency.
- Interact with cross-functional teams (Accounting, Finance, Tax, Operations, and IT) to clarify information and support day-to-day operational demands.
- Operate in compliance with GE HealthCare policies, compliance standards, and ethical principles.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.
- Basic knowledge of general accounting concepts, including journal entries, reconciliations, and chart of accounts principles.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail, sense of responsibility, and willingness to learn continuously.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a corporate environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (internship or entry-level role) in accounting routines, reconciliations, closing activities, and/or controllership.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Experience in medium-sized or large companies.
- Basic to intermediate English for reading systems, reports, or documentation.
- Analytical, organized, and quality-driven profile with commitment to compliance and continuous improvement.
