In the role of Lower Valley Utilities Technical Senior Specialist working in Golden, CO you will lead and support an operational crew of wastewater utilities technicians, maintenance technicians, instrumentation and controls electricians, and laboratory technicians, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient plant operations. You will coordinate daily and weekly activities, maintain adherence to company policies and all state and federal regulations, and drive execution of operator-based maintenance and World Class Supply Chain principles.
This role includes leading daily team meetings, collaborating closely with utilities leadership and cross-functional partners, and serving as a key liaison for internal and external stakeholders. You will also support capital project execution and continuously identify opportunities for process improvement across areas such as chemical, energy, and water usage, asset care, operational alignment, and workplace organization and standardization.
What You’ll Be Brewing:
- Evaluates plant performance, for our Anaerobic, General and Process Waste Treatment facilities, Sludge Processing Plant, and makes decisions for operational adjustments in order to comply with Molson Coors Discharge permits
- Supports Run-to-target. (i.e. Daily Direction setting, Centerline & Clean-Inspect-Lube execution and improvement, Top Loss evaluation and elimination). Assure clear and concise communication through shift hand over, written logs & communication and SAP Notification.
- Responsible for supporting their team's personal development plan by leading, coaching and developing training plans. Provide technical training for lower valley utilities technician trainees and other utilities department crafts and technicians, as well as on the job technical support for the team.
- Resolve utilities equipment and system related issues through effective troubleshooting, as well as planning, scheduling, assigning, and coordinating operational/maintenance support. (Leverages WCSC tools such as BDE and IPS to solve chronic and acute issues as needed)
- Interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to support our business and ability to meet permit requirements.
- Develops plans for shutdowns and return to service for maintenance and projects with craft and project teams to ensure a smooth shutdown and return to service.
- Escalates and communicates people or operation issues directly to the Line Lead & is available for after hours escalation and plant support while on rotation or supporting Vacation.
Key Ingredients:
- Number of years of relevant experience needed: 3 to 5 years
- Type of experience needed in a particular filed, area or skill set: Wastewater licensing
- Required Education: Technical Degree and Wastewater License with Colorado
- Preferred Education: Technical Degree and Industrial “A” Wastewater
- Licenses & Certifications: Industrial Wastewater License
- MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Colorado State Certification - Licensed Wastewater Treatment Operator
- Demonstrated ability in the following: Teamwork, Leadership, Microsoft Office, SAP, Process Improvement, Hach Wims, Factory Talk, Pi Vision
- Ability & willingness to work on a 4x4 schedule system. (4 12-hr Days / Cycle)
- Ability to achieve Colorado State Certification – “A” Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator in 1 year
- PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Colorado State Certification – “A” Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator
- Higher level technical education. (Engineering, Industrial Technology/Sciences, Etc.)
- Demonstrated ability in operator-based maintenance.
- Previous experience dealing with brewery wastewater streams and Colorado discharge permits.
- Experience with Cryogenic Oxygen Plant operations and turnarounds
- Anaerobic Process Waste Treatment Plant experience
