Job Description Summary
The MYA Systems Engineering under CSE organization is seeking for a talented engineer to join us as a Technical LeaderTechnical Leader - MYA Systems position is to be filled by an engineer who enables One Team, drives lean and customer focused execution, and is accountable for growing innovation and technical capability for the future. One who has a good understanding of Gas Turbine components design and Services engineering. This person will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives associated with the MYA financial business. The person will lead a multidisciplinary team within MYA Systems Engineering overseeing technical risk assessments and productivity optimization initiatives keeping customer focus as priority.
Responsibilities will include ownership and accountability for performing technical risk assessments and working horizontally across Design, Reliability, GT Systems, Chief Engineers Office, Performance, Repair, Product Service, MYA Risk, Digital, Application, Product Management and Customer facing teams in effectively managing the balance of risk vs. opportunity within the MYA Catalog, creating sustained value for both our customers and GEV.

- Team Leadership: Lead a multidisciplinary team of six engineers and three contractors, overseeing technical risk assessments and productivity optimization initiatives within MYA Systems Engineering.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Lead the validation of technical recommendations and ensure timely resolution of customer-facing requests based on project priorities.
- Operational Excellence & Innovation: Champion Lean methodologies to drive productivity improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional tools development teams to architect and deploy advanced risk assessment reporting systems, specifically driving the integration of AI-enabled solutions. Drive simplification.
- Mentorship & Delivery: Foster technical growth by mentoring junior engineers on core processes and methodologies. Partner with senior engineering staff to ensure the rigorous attainment of technical milestones and strict adherence to program delivery timelines. Build technical depth in the team.
- Process Improvement: Serve as a key advisor to the Team Manager in streamlining operational workflows. Lead high-impact departmental initiatives and represent the team in managing critical cross-functional interfaces.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate integrated workflows across diverse domains, including Design, Reliability, Repair Engineering, PSE, Product Line Management, Fleet Management, and the CTH community.
- Strategic Execution: Leverage deep domain expertise and innovative problem-solving to execute technical strategies that align with broader organizational goals.
- Leadership Representation: Act as a representative for the MYA Systems team in Monthly Operating Reviews (MORs) and high-level leadership forums, providing technical insights and progress reports
- Own technical execution. Maintain execution rigor through daily management, prioritization and follow-through
- Protect quality and reduce risk – prevent defects, reduce customer escapes, use standard work, escalate technical risks early.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor or Master of Science/technology in Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of Gas Turbine Design and/or Services engineering experience.
- Combustion/HGP mechanical design experience, hardware ownership along with exposure to field issue like RCA and ER would be added benefit.
- Have good knowledge lean and continuous improvement tools
