Description
Function:
Ensure consistent management of tax and customs issues within Puma PNG Group, together with local management and Puma tax department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure Tax and Customs regulations are properly followed up by PNG entities in line with local legislation. Ensure that returns and processes are correctly prepared and followed.
- Follow up actively any litigation with local management and take any measures to ensure resolution of cases.
- Analyses and proposes recommendations in terms of tax management to local management and supports them to define most optimized methods.
- Support controlling department in verifying tax figures in consolidation and deferred tax calculation.
- Support Group Tax department in the setup of Group tax policy, optimization and structuration.
Requirements:
Experience:
- Degree in Tax/Accounting/Law
- At least 8 years experience in a Tax function and/or within a big “4” accounting firm
- Regional experience would be an advantage
Skills:
- Fluent in English
- Experience with ERP tools, international commerce and customs systems
- Computer knowledge (MS Office)
- Strong communication skills, verbal, written and presentation
- Analytical skills
Competencies:
- Strongly organized and structured
- Can work independently with excellent attention to detail
- Analytical skills on complex matters
- Good relationship skills
Key Relationships:
- Internal – Puma GM, Puma Finance Manager and tax advisors.
- External - State authorities (Tax and customs), Auditors.
