Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-based data platforms, enterprise data pipelines, data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics solutions.

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading data architecture decisions, integrating data from multiple enterprise systems, improving data accessibility, and supporting business teams with reliable, governed, and high-quality data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable enterprise data architectures, data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse solutions.
• Develop and maintain robust ETL and ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Integrate data from ERP systems, operational platforms, IoT sources, APIs, and other business-critical applications.
• Build cloud-based data solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies.
• Develop and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, PySpark, and related tools.
• Design and manage Delta Lake, Delta Tables, and Delta Live Table solutions.
• Support the implementation of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Warehouse environments.
• Lead data modelling, data architecture, and database design activities.
• Establish data governance standards, engineering best practices, and technical guidelines.
• Monitor and improve data quality, reliability, performance, security, and accessibility.
• Optimize SQL queries, database performance, and large-scale data-processing workloads.
• Develop real-time and event-driven data solutions using Azure Event Hubs and Event Grid.
• Support IoT data ingestion, monitoring, anomaly detection, and analytical use cases.
• Collaborate with business units, analysts, data scientists, developers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Prepare technical specifications, architectural roadmaps, and solution documentation.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data engineering solutions.
• Support Power BI and analytics teams by providing trusted, well-structured data models and datasets.
• Troubleshoot complex data, integration, pipeline, and performance issues.
• Mentor data engineers and provide technical guidance across development teams.
• Evaluate emerging data technologies and recommend suitable improvements to the data ecosystem.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, data architecture, or related technical roles.
• Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Data Platform technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks.
• Advanced experience with PySpark, SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, and SSAS.
• Strong understanding of data warehouse, data lake, lakehouse, and multi-layer data architecture concepts.
• Experience integrating data from ERP systems such as SAP and other enterprise applications.
• Good knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and security practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and automated deployment processes.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Azure Analysis Services, and enterprise reporting solutions.
• Experience with real-time data, IoT platforms, Azure Event Hubs, or Event Grid will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of C#, .NET, JavaScript, Angular, or React will be an added advantage.
• Strong SQL performance-tuning, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder-management, leadership, and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to work independently and lead complex data-engineering initiatives.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
