Summary

HomeEquity Bank is seeking a Senior Test Automation Specialist to join our Business Application Quality team. The Senior Automation Specialist will play a key role in evaluating, recommending, and implementing test automation frameworks and tools to enhance the quality and efficiency of our technology solutions.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on automation expert with a strong strategic mindset, capable of guiding tool selection, developing automation framework, leading proof-of-concept initiatives, and building a robust regression suite for release testing. This individual will train QA Analysts, embed automation processes, and collaborate closely with the delivery teams to ensure that test automation is an integral part of the software development life cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the assessment of the current technology architecture and propose the most suitable test automation framework for the team.
  • Own the evaluation and recommendation process for test automation tools that align with the needs of HomeEquity Bank’s core business applications.
  • Develop and present proof-of-concept automation scripts to demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed automation tools.
  • Design and implement a scalable and maintainable automation framework from scratch, including core utilities, reusable components, and reporting structures, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes and supports future growth.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for a regression suite to ensure comprehensive coverage of business-critical functionalities.
  • Collaborate with QA analysts to understand requirements, workflows, and acceptance criteria of recent delivery.
  • Document automation processes, test cases, and results to support transparency, knowledge sharing, and compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance and best practices to team members on automation strategy, tool usage, and script development.
  • Provide regular reporting to leadership on automation progress, coverage, and value contribution.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in automation and proactively recommend enhancements to our automation strategy.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize existing automation solutions to ensure reliability and effectiveness.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in test automation strategy and implementation.
  • Proven experience in establishing automation frameworks and developing automation scripts from scratch.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more leading automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress or similar frameworks).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used for automation (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or TypeScript).
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle, test methodologies, and quality assurance best practices.
  • Experience with regression testing, test planning, and test case design.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automation into DevOps environments is an asset
