Position Summary:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Specialists role is critical to Sofina’s operation success. The successful candidate will collaborate, and problem solve with operational team members and vendors to ensure supply of direct materials to our world class production facility. This role is vital to the day to day success of plant operations.

This is one year contract role.

Key Accountability

• Ensure all plant material requirements are satisfied
• Understand supplier capabilities and develop strong relationships with vendors
• Negotiate with vendors to ensure items are delivered to the facility at the right time to support operational needs
• Instrumental in solving any production / supply related issue with operations stakeholders
• Aid in the development of inventory strategy plans
• Cross collaborate with other internal departments and vendors to ensure materials purchased are as per quality and regulatory specifications
• Support in the testing and commissioning of new materials, products and processes.
• Maintain presence on the production floor.

Requirements:

• University degree in Business, Engineering or other related careers.
• Experience in the food manufacturing industry is an asset.
• 3-5 years’ experience in supply chain, primary processing or fresh planning.
• Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office and database management.
