The Marketing Communications Specialist for the Protective & Marine Coatings Division (P&M) of Sherwin-Williams’ Performance Coatings Group will support marketing communication external and internal programs for a diverse range of energy market segments including oil and gas, power generation, alternative, and hydrocarbon fire protection and transportation markets including commercial and government marine and freight rail. This role supports a team of 25 marketing and sales members driving more than $176M in revenue.
The marketing communications specialist will report to the Energy Marketing Communications Manager and assist with written and visual content development for presentations, video, website, promotional campaigns, sales collateral, and LinkedIn; provide support for events and tradeshows; support digital asset management; support internal communications and manage division intranet. The specialist will have the opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic B2B marketing and sales-oriented environment and work first-hand with business leaders and creative resources to create brand awareness in the industrial coating market. For this role all daily tasks will involve close collaboration with segment marketing, field marketing, sales team, external agencies and internal digital/creative teams.
Additional Information:
This role is not remote/hybrid. This role will report to Sherwin-Williams Global Headquarters located at 1 Sherwin Way, Cleveland, OH 44113 and will have at least 20% travel.

- Marketing Communications Program Execution
- Execute segment content initiatives for product launches, demand generation campaigns, sales promotions, trade shows, and PR programs under the guidance of the marketing communications manager/director.
- Coordinate project timelines, inputs, and deliverables with creative services and digital marketing teams.
- Contribute ideas to improve campaigns and leverage resources across teams to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Track and report on campaign performance, contributing insights for continuous improvement.
- Digital
- Develop and provide content for social media accounts, coordinating with the Inbound Marketing Manager on scheduling and best practices.
- Create, update, and publish content for designated segment pages on websites.
- Work with the digital marketing team to implement best practices and support demand generation efforts through marketing automation platforms.
- Collaborate with CRM team to request campaign dashboards and customer contact lists.
- Content Development and Media Program Coordination
- Assist with coordination with creative agencies in development of long form content including case studies, white papers, thought leadership articles.
- Contribute to ideation and planning for video and photography capture and editing.
- Partner with marketing communications manager to plan and manage paid media programs including digital ads, webinars, podcasts, white paper placements, etc.
- Lead development, review and publication of marketing collateral.
- Work closely with the sales organization to drive awareness and utilization of content, as well as ideation for new content.
- Events
- Support the development of content and programming for the annual North America Sales Meeting.
- Assist in planning and executing key industry, customer, and trade show events aligned with divisional objectives.
- Provide coordination and logistical support for customer-facing events, including training sessions, presentations, and product demonstrations.
- Internal Communications
- Coordinate ongoing communications to internal teams through collaboration platforms.
- Maintain divisional sales and marketing content on SharePoint.

Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future (e.g., OPT, CPT, H1B, EB-1,etc.)
- Must have a valid, unrestricted drivers license.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher.
Must have three (3) years of experience in marketing communications.
- Must be willing to travel as required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Have a bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, communications, or business.
Have five (5) years of experience in marketing communications.
Have one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook).
Have experience with Content Management Systems, such as Adobe Experience Manager.
Have experience with Customer Relationship Management, such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics.
Have experience with marketing automation, such as Marketo or Hubspot.
