Regional Manager
The WIC Overseas Regional Manager will manage a group of WIC Overseas sites within a defined geographic area. They will report to the WIC Overseas Program Manager, and communicate and coordinate with the WIC Overseas European Theater Liaison if the RM is located in Europe or Deputy Program Manager for the Pacific Region as necessary. They will supervise Team Leaders (TL) and Certified Professional Authorities (CPA) and Clinical Health Program Specialists (CHPS). They will provide initial training to all regional WIC Overseas staff. They will be required to interface with military authorities, community leaders, and WIC Overseas beneficiaries within the region. They will plan, organize, develop, implement, follow-up and evaluate overall WIC Overseas program services and functions within their regions and assist with hiring, training and professional development of the WIC Overseas staff. When providing direct participant services to participants and their families, they will provide current nutrition information on infant feeding, early childhood nutritional practices and feeding patterns, optimal prenatal and postpartum nutrition counseling and breastfeeding education.
Compensation & Benefits:Salary for Full-Time Administrative Assistant: $71,468.68

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
- Oversee WIC Overseas operations in assigned geographical area;
- Interview, assist in the selection and evaluate WIC Overseas staff;
- Assess job performance and participate in the evaluation process;
- Provide office coverage as needed;
- Coordinate area activities for quality control/assurance, training, breastfeeding, nutrition education, outreach and comprehensive medical/social services;
- Advise WIC Overseas Program Management officers (Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager) on WIC Overseas operations;
- Advise Base/Wing/Post Commander on WIC Overseas operations, as appropriate;
- Maintain active communication with the WIC Overseas Theater Liaison;
- Oversee participant satisfaction through the performance of participant flow analysis, surveys and direct observation;
- Provide WIC Overseas information to health care providers and military treatment facilities, when appropriate;
- Promote WIC Overseas services throughout the assigned area;
- Monitor monthly reports required by TMA office for their region;
- Assist in monitoring and evaluation of monthly caseload statistics;
- Assist in monthly staff scheduling and long-range staffing;
- Participate in assessment of program activities;
- Coordinate WIC Overseas services with other medical/social service agencies within area;
- Maintain effective public relations and outreach within the military communities;
- Promote breastfeeding initiatives and coordinate with local breastfeeding personnel;
- Maintain HIPAA standards;
- Schedule appointments for participants as needed following appropriate time standards for each type of appointment;
- Augment Certified Professional Authority for the designated area as required;
- Train Certified Professional Authority and Administrative Assistants on office workflow and customer service;
- Ensure staff remain current in nutrition/breastfeeding information through continuing medical education;
- Keep staff updated on nutrition education classes;
- Evaluate nutrition education materials and newsletters prior to sending to the Program Manager for final approval;
- Problem solve with participants and staff;
- Conduct formal presentations on WIC Overseas program;
- Maintain a professional license/registration/certification.
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

- EDUCATION AND TRAINING
- Requires a BS in Nutrition, Dietetics, Nursing, Home Economics or Physician Assistant.
- Must be a currently registered or licensed professional.
- Registered and Licensed Dietitian preferred.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in the field of nutrition, nursing or a related area, with at least three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.
- Breastfeeding Certification (IBCLC, CLC, or CE) desirable.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of IBM compatible computer systems.
- Knowledge of MS Word or WordPerfect and Excel software.
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
- May require frequent travel by Privately Owned Vehicle (POV). Current acceptable driver’s license, e.g., USAREUR/International and personal vehicle for use in carrying out required duties. Personal auto liability insurance is mandatory.
