Description

We're a not-for-profit mental health centre based in Calgary, with locations across Alberta. Our mission is to build good mental health and well-being so everyone can thrive in their community.

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Team Leader for our Under 12 (U12) Stabilization Program. The Team Leader is responsible for the day to day operational aspects at the U12 Stabilization Program primarily. This program works with children and families, providing 24/7 treatment for children experiencing significant challenges including but not limited to: deficits in daily functioning, school performance issues, chronic mental health concerns, and behavior concerns.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Recruiting and supervising front line staff including:
    • monitoring and authorizing staff hours,
    • case management and case plan meetings
    • first level liaison with families and case teams,
    • creating and implementing group programming for children
  • Ensuring program is kept in excellent physical conditions and that program structure/integrity is maintained.
  • Assuming financial accountability and budget management
  • Opportunity to contribute to, and/or facilitate trainings
  • Conducting supervisions in adherence to the Supervision Policy at Wood’s Homes
  • Evaluation of job performance – probationary and annual performance evaluations.
  • Executes other responsibilities as required and assigned by the Program Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

  • Degree in Social or Human Sciences is required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience working with young people and families.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of child development and how to implement interventions.
  • Demonstration of understanding of Trauma Informed Care and implementation strategies for younger children, and their families
  • Enthusiasm for providing treatment in context of a family system.
  • Experience working within partnerships
  • Working knowledge of Children’s Services
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
  • Current certification in: CPR/Standard First Aid
  • Must have own transportation and valid class 5 driver’s license.
