Description

The City of Athens is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Program Coordinator at Arts West. The Program Coordinator will assist the Arts West Program Specialist with the development, planning and implementation of programs and events while monitoring facility use and services provided. This is a part-time position that is covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act. The starting pay rate is $12 per hour. 


Essential Functions:

  • Identify activities, coordinate site and instruction needs and ensure community programs are delivered as planned and assigned.
  • Monitor and prepare supplies and inventory to ensure readiness for programs.
  • Compile feedback and metrics based on program evaluations to understand needs and identify future goals for programs
  • Works with the Program Specialist, Event Coordinator(s), community groups and instructors to provide quality visual and performing art programs at Arts West.
  • Supports other department programs and events as needed.
  • Maintain regular office hours employing appropriate business procedures and practices.
  • Coordinate fundraising activities and promote interest in programs.
  • Assist the Program Specialist with grant applications.
  • Assist the Program Specialist to coordinate a program(s) including all disciplines and areas of performing and visual art for all age levels.
  • Enforces the rules and regulations for the facility equipment use and programs.
  • Schedules activities, programs and events for and maintains calendar regarding use of facilities.
  • Operates equipment for programs and events
  • Assumes other responsibilities and performs other related duties as needed.

 

Position Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid Ohio Driver’s License.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in arts administration or equivalent.


Position Specifications

  • Meet the attendance requirements of the position, which calls for a flexible work week schedule to accommodate evenings and weekends.
  • Frequent writing, math calculations, problem solving, reading, proofreading, reasoning, and analyzing.
  • Extensive knowledge of regulations regarding theatre, music and a broad variety of other arts programs and experience in supervising such programs.
  • Frequent telephone or direct conversations.
  • Occasional visual observation at both near and far distances.
  • Work both inside and outside in varying climates.
  • Excellent written, oral, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of personal computers using scheduling software, Microsoft, and Macintosh applications.
