Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is a key member of the HR team responsible for supporting all aspects of Human Resources for a family-owned company. This hands-on role requires a highly organized, adaptable professional who can effectively manage multiple priorities while providing exceptional service to employees and leadership.

This position is responsible for all HR aspects of our Dairy Store/Parlor. It also includes assistance in the full-cycle recruitment and interviewing process, including sourcing candidates, coordinating hiring activities, conducting interviews, and supporting hiring managers throughout the selection process. In addition, the HR Generalist will assist with employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, performance management, training, policy administration, and any other HR responsibilities that may be assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee Dairy Store/Parlor

  • Assist the Parlor General Manager with daily human resources functions and administrative responsibilities.
  • Oversee and maintain all required employee documentation, including minor work permits and other employment related records.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employee relation matters, addressing workplace concerns and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Support performance management initiatives, including employee coaching, documentation, and corrective action processes.
  • Help ensure efficient day-to-day parlor operations through effective coordination, compliance and staff support.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Source, screen, and evaluate candidates through resume reviews and phone interviews.
  • Coordinate and conduct interviews with candidates and HR Manager
  • Prepare and extend employment offers.
  • Track recruiting metrics and maintain applicant records.
  • Develop and maintain talent pipelines for future hiring needs.
  • Partner with managers to understand workforce needs and hiring priorities.

Human Resources Administration

  • Administer HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Assist employees with HR-related questions and concerns.
  • Support benefits enrollment and administration processes.
  • Maintain HRIS and employee records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Prepare HR reports and documentation as needed.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Serve as a resource for employee relations matters and workplace concerns.
  • Support performance management and corrective action processes.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Help develop and update HR policies and employee communications.
  • Participate in investigations and documentation when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of Human Resources experience
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems.
