RESPONSIBILITIES
The Junior Commercial Counsel shall be responsible for the following duties and obligations:
Draft, review, and negotiate client-facing commercial agreements, including master service agreements, data licensing agreements, subscription agreements, order forms, and statements of work.
Advise regional sales and business development teams on deal structure, contract risk, and commercial terms.
Identify and escalate legal risks in commercial transactions, with practical recommendations for resolution.
Develop and maintain regional contract templates and playbooks to support self-service and deal velocity.
Manage contracts through Salesforce and maintain accurate records.
Collaborate with the global legal team on cross-border transactions, compliance initiatives, and process improvements.
Support other legal team projects and initiatives as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate shall possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
Law degree from a recognized university; admitted to practice in Colombia.
Two-three years of experience in commercial/transactional legal work, either in-house or at a law firm; technology, data, or SaaS experience preferred.
Experience with commercial transactions across LATAM markets is highly valued.
Working knowledge of data protection and privacy laws across key LATAM jurisdictions.
Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
Fluent in English and Spanish, with the ability to conduct business, draft, and negotiate contracts in both languages. Proficiency in French is a plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
Self-starter who can manage a portfolio of deals with appropriate guidance, while knowing when to escalate.
Proficiency with Google Suite, Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and collaboration tools; experience managing contracts in Salesforce is a plus.
Experience in the data, research, or consumer insights industry.
