Coordinator or Manager, Team Member Relations Thrive Coach

Are you a skilled people professional with a gift for building trust, resolving conflict, and fostering a culture where every team member feels valued and supported? The Black Cultural Zone Community Development Corporation (BCZ CDC) is seeking a Coordinator or Manager, Team Member Relations Thrive Coach — a dedicated role focused on fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performing work environment aligned with BCZ's mission and C.R.E.A.T.E. values. In this role, you will serve as a confidential resource, performance coach, and culture steward for all BCZ team members.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As the Coordinator or Manager, Team Member Relations Thrive Coach, you will:

  • Provide confidential 1:1 coaching and support to team members on performance, accountability, workplace concerns, and professional growth.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution, mediate interpersonal and inter-team tensions, and conduct impartial internal investigations into workplace issues and grievances.
  • Coach team members and circles on decentralized decision-making models, including the advice process, consent, and sociocracy.
  • Deliver cultural competence and equity workshops and run confidential listening sessions to monitor psychological safety and belonging across the organization.
  • Administer leave management programs and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment regulations.
  • Coordinate with the Holistic Wellness Thrive Coach, Workforce Development Thrive Coach, and external partners to connect team members to holistic support services.
  • Track and report on KPIs including conflict resolution rates, cultural competence training completion, belonging index scores, and team member satisfaction.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate is a seasoned HR and employee relations professional who brings:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources specializing in employee relations, performance management, and/or organizational development.
  • Proven track record of maintaining strict confidentiality and sound judgment in complex workplace situations, including conducting internal investigations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws including FMLA, ADA, and local leave and compliance regulations.
  • Deep knowledge of mediation, conflict resolution, and coaching methodologies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, high empathy, and the ability to build trust across diverse team members and organizational levels.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: SHRM-CP, PHR, Certified Professional Coach (CPC), or Associate Certified Coach (ACC).

  • Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, 30 hours per week.
  • Schedule: Variable, Monday–Saturday.
  • Location: 8321 International Blvd. and other BCZ Hubs, Oakland, CA 94621.
  • Compensation: $27.00 – $33.00 per hour.
