Overall Goal of Position:
The Vice President of Away From Home (AFH) Sales will lead Sauer Brands’ efforts to drive growth across both front-of-house and back-of-house through branded and private label solutions within the foodservice, hospitality, and institutional channels.
Job Summary:
This role will be responsible for setting strategy, building customer relationships, and executing sales plans to expand Sauer Brands’ market presence. The VP will lead a high-performing team, instill operational rigor, and collaborate across functions to deliver exceptional results in a dynamic environment. This role will report to the Chief Sales Officer.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sales Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that drives growth in branded and private label products across distributors, operators, and national chain accounts.
- Own revenue performance and ensure delivery against ambitious growth targets for the AFH channel.
- Oversee a portfolio of accounts ensuring strong pipeline management and customer engagement.
- Foodservice & Market Expertise
- Leverage deep understanding of the foodservice, hospitality, and institutional markets to identify new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with key decision-makers.
- Stay ahead of market trends, consumer insights, and competitor activity to inform strategies and maintain a leadership position in the category.
- Operational Discipline
- Drive forecasting, demand planning, and alignment of sales targets with supply chain activities to optimize service levels and ensure operational excellence.
- Implement tools and processes to track sales performance against KPIs, identify gaps, and take corrective actions to achieve growth objectives.
- Team Building & Leadership
- Build, develop, and motivate a high-impact sales team, fostering a strong talent pipeline and maintaining a robust bench of field sales talent.
- Serve as an inspirational leader who creates a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and high performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Culture
- Act as a collaborative player/coach who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, adapting quickly to marketplace changes.
- Partner closely with marketing, finance, operations, and product teams to drive alignment and achieve shared business goals.

- CPG & Industry Expertise
- Apply deep knowledge of CPG, ideally within the snack, food, or beverage categories, to drive category growth strategies.
- Analyze market data, consumer feedback, and competitive trends to shape decisions around branded and private label portfolio priorities.
- Experience in private equity-backed environments is a plus.

- Demonstrated proficiency in the following areas:
- Extensive relationships with distributors, operators, and national chain accounts in the foodservice or institutional segments.
- Track record of driving operational rigor, including forecasting, demand planning, and performance management.
- Proven ability to build, lead, and inspire high-performing sales teams in entrepreneurial or rapidly growing organizations.
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale sales operations and delivering results on revenue targets.
- Strong player/coach mentality who leads by example and motivates teams to excel.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, or related field; MBA a plus
- 15+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in CPG, with substantial time spent leading foodservice or AFH teams.
