GENERAL SUMMARY
The Talent Acquisition Officer is responsible for the recruitment of non-officer and officer positions including positions at AVP/VP/FVP level in the assigned branch, region, and/or departmental area with minimal supervision. Incumbent is responsible for posting approved staff requisitions with accurate job description, cross-posting, direct sourcing, screening/interviewing, administering assessments, recommending, coordinating, conducting reference checks, extending offers, and initiating on-boarding.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Uses directories, networking, resume databases, team member referrals, Internet, advertisements, job fairs, organizations/associations, career events, college recruiting, social media, references, cold calling, and any other creative or applicable resources to generate leads and build a pipeline of prospective candidates for current and future openings.
- Works with hiring managers to identify and understand needs in the department; considers the essential functions and job requirements for the open position and its impact to the department and ensures that the new hire has the potential to contribute to the growth and success of the department.
- Responsible for the full cycle of recruiting of assigned open positions. Posts approved staff requisitions, cross-posts, direct sources, screens/interviews, administers assessments, presents potential candidates to hiring managers, conducts reference checks, extends offers, and initiates on-boarding.
- Provides hiring managers with frequent status reports to include results from strategies administered. Continues to work with hiring managers on developing new strategies to target and identify viable candidates. Assists hiring managers to make the best hiring decisions, and when necessary, seeks Talent Acquisition Manager’s guidance.
- Uses effective and professional communication skills to deliver and gather information relevant to the opening; projects a positive company image to attract candidates.
- Coordinates the background check process with HR Officer and HR Assistant.
- Participates in job fairs, community outreach activities, and Bank sponsored events. Participates in recruiting, banking, financial professional, and community associations and networking events to develop self-sourced referrals and to build a network. Attends webinars/seminars and continued education courses to stay competitive and up to date with recruiting and market trends.
- Partners with internal departments to create ad campaigns and ensure compliance.
- Updates Applicant Tracking System as part of the recruiting process.
- Ensures hiring practices are in compliance with the Federal, State, and local laws, and the Bank’s policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Two years of college level course work in business, HR management, or closely related field preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in retail or HR, preferably in banking or financial service industry recruiting team members at both exempt and non-exempt level.
- Skills/Ability: Intermediate knowledge of recruiting techniques and metrics. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage difficult situations/conversations; the ability to push back and share difficult information both tactfully and effectively with leaders several levels higher while driving win-win outcomes. Understanding of EEO and recruiting laws; genuinely values diversity. Self-directed and self-motivated with the ability to maintain focus, plan and execute key deliverables. Well organized and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members and managers. Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Bilingual (English/Mandarin or Cantonese) a plus. Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter and any Talent Management Solution or Applicant Tracking System is a plus. High level of integrity and able to maintain confidentiality.
OTHER DETAILS
$70k – $80k / year
Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
