Description
Accounting Clerk
The Accounting Clerk maintains accurate financial records and supports the day-to-day accounting functions of three legal entities – Open Automatic Door, KalStone, and All American Glass. The Bookkeeper is responsible for recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, managing accounts payable and receivable, performing month-end close activities, and preparing financial reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact and receptionist for all affiliated companies.
- Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in QuickBooks Online.
- Manage accounts payable, including invoice processing and vendor payments.
- Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing customers and monitoring collections.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
- Record payroll transactions in the general ledger.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- File sales tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting regulations.
- Support audits by organizing and providing requested financial records.
- Maintain organized and secure financial files and records.
- Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal staff regarding financial matters.
- Complete other duties assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- Experience operating a multi-line telephone system.
- 1–3 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related financial experience preferred.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Foundation, or similar systems.
Skills
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all company information.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
