Description

Accounting Clerk

The Accounting Clerk maintains accurate financial records and supports the day-to-day accounting functions of three legal entities – Open Automatic Door, KalStone, and All American Glass. The Bookkeeper is responsible for recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, managing accounts payable and receivable, performing month-end close activities, and preparing financial reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and receptionist for all affiliated companies.
  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in QuickBooks Online.
  • Manage accounts payable, including invoice processing and vendor payments.
  • Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing customers and monitoring collections.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.
  • Record payroll transactions in the general ledger.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • File sales tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting regulations.
  • Support audits by organizing and providing requested financial records.
  • Maintain organized and secure financial files and records.
  • Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal staff regarding financial matters.
  • Complete other duties assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • Experience operating a multi-line telephone system.
  • 1–3 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or related financial experience preferred.
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Foundation, or similar systems.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all company information.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
