Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality and compliance of our imported products. You will work closely with suppliers and logistics teams to maintain the highest quality standards and mitigate potential risks of imported products we handle.

Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Quality Management:
    • Evaluate and qualify new suppliers based on quality standards and performance metrics.
    • Conduct regular audits of supplier facilities to assess quality control processes and compliance with regulations based on our internal product specifications. (Online or in-site audits)
    • Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions for quality issues and claim improvements requested by our quality team and from the market.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Incoming Inspection:
    • Oversee the inspection of incoming materials and products to verify conformance to specifications and standards. (On-site and into our warehouse)
    • Implement inspection plans, checklists, and sampling procedures following the sampling procedure and product evaluation process indicated into our product specifications.
    • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) techniques to monitor quality trends and identify potential issues.
    • Collaborate with purchasing and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of quality products. (With our plant in Mexico and USA)
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues found during inspections and mass production processes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
    • Monitor and analyze quality metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records, including inspection reports, test results, and supplier performance data.
    • Prepare regular quality reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
    • Document and implement quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, (mechanical, Industrial or related area)
  • 3+ years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in an import/export environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Microsoft Office, quality management software).
  • Good communication skills (English language)
