IT Systems Administrator

The IT Systems Administrator delivers mission critical infrastructure and ensures the highest levels of availability, performance, and security. The qualified administrator will have a background in IT, computer systems engineering, or systems engineering and analysis.

Education:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related subject, or equivalent professional experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows and UNIX/Linux based environments
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, XenServer, Hyper-V)
  • Solid scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Powershell)
  • Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
  • Knowledge of storage architectures. NetApp storage array knowledge is a plus
  • Cloud experience a plus, preferably Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of system and infrastructure availability
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with team members to implement those fixes
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency, improve automation, and lower human intervention time where applicable
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
  • Provide technical support for the user community
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Participate in implementation projects
  • Will handle miscellaneous duties, as assigned.
