Job description

The Team:

Hitachi, Ltd. is seeking a talented Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure and reliable network infrastructure. This role is crucial for ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance across our global operations.

The Role:
* Design, configure, and deploy network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
* Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
* Troubleshoot complex network problems, including connectivity, performance, and security-related incidents.
* Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures, including access control lists, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
* Perform regular network audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
* Collaborate with other IT teams and business units to understand requirements and provide network solutions.
* Participate in on-call rotation for network support and incident response.
* Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions to improve efficiency and security.

What you’ll bring:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise environment.
* Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, etc.) and network services (DNS, DHCP).
* Proficiency with Cisco networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls) is essential.
* Experience with network security best practices and technologies (e.g., VPNs, firewalls, IDS/IPS).
* Familiarity with network monitoring tools and techniques.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIP) are highly desirable.
* Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
