POSITION SUMMARY – Leads environmental and sustainability programs and initiatives that support Dee Zee’s compliance objectives and long-term ESG goals. This position manages ISO 14001 systems, sustainability reporting platforms, and large-scale projects while working cross-functionally to promote environmental stewardship. The Project Manager will be multiskilled in key health and safety areas for incident investigations and other EHS-related projects as needed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT— Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead the execution and maintenance of Dee Zee’s ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS).Coordinate and manage regulatory environmental reporting (e.g., Tier II, Emissions Inventory).Serve as the point of contact for environmental and sustainability reporting platforms such as CDP, MFG 2030, and EcoVadis.Drive sustainability initiatives across the organization by leading projects and engaging stakeholders.
- Oversee internal EMS audits and corrective action tracking.Develop Dee Zee’s Corporate Sustainability Report, coordinating data collection and content development.Ensure compliance with environmental permit maintenance and applications.Track emerging environmental regulations and industry sustainability trends to ensure organizational readiness.Train and mentor a seasonal intern in environmental and sustainability tasks.Assist with the design and delivery of employee training on sustainability and environmental compliance.Participate in EHS activities, supporting alignment across health, safety, and environmental functions.
Investigate work related accidents and injuries and establish appropriate behavior modifications to prevent reoccurrencesEnsure facilities preparation for relevant emergency situationsSupport other EHS programs as needed, such as participating in or leading incident and near-miss investigations, supporting site inspections and hazard identification activities, assisting in training deployment and documentation.Other tasks as assigned.Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to unsafe or unhealthful acts/working conditions, and nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and ISO 14001 regulations and standards.Clear and effective communicator with excellent written, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Analytical thinker able to interpret complex data and regulatory requirements.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience in sustainability platforms is a plus.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Familiarity with GRI, CSR, or ESG reporting frameworks is advantageous.
- ISO 14001 Internal Auditor certification preferred or must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Experience assisting or leading investigations is a plus.
