As part of this, we are establishing a Consulting‑owned and managed Azure environment, operating within firm‑wide guardrails but designed specifically to meet Consulting’s delivery, innovation and regulatory needs. This role will play a critical technical and leadership role in designing, building and governing that environment. Reporting into Consulting Platforms lead, the Consulting Azure Engineer and Architect will work closely with Consulting Digital leadership, delivery teams and internal IT (National Technology (NT)) Cloud Core and Security teams. The role combines architecture, engineering and platform ownership, and requires someone equally comfortable shaping strategy, defining standards, and rolling up their sleeves to implement solutions You’ll make an impact by: Azure Platform Ownership Architecture – Own and design Consulting’s Azure platform, defining target architecture, environments, shared services and reusable components that enable secure, scalable and innovative delivery. Governance Design Authority – Act as the Azure design authority for Consulting, defining standards, patterns and guardrails in alignment with firm‑wide policies, and ensuring compliant, proportionate platform use. Security, Risk Compliance by Design – Embed security‑by‑design principles across the platform, working closely with Security, Risk and Privacy teams to meet regulatory, legal and InfoSec requirements. FinOps Operational Excellence – Lead cost management and FinOps practices, and define operational processes covering provisioning, monitoring, resilience, disaster recovery and continuous platform improvement. Hands‑on Engineering Enablement – Build and configure core Azure platform components, support team onboarding, and act as a technical mentor and escalation point for Azure across Consulting.
