POSITION SUMMARY
The Research Analyst conducts strategic research and analysis of industries and markets, companies, people, and investment opportunities to support OmniTRAX’s business development and M & A initiatives. Executes detailed research, analysis and effective management in pursuit of quality investments and growth; sources for deals; develops ideas for new business relationships and investment opportunities; models financial statements, conducts due diligence and examines industries to meet corporate strategic development and growth plans. Creates and deliver reports of findings to upper management.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research and analyze complex business situations, financial statements and structures, relevant industries, markets, companies and people; compile and extract into relevant business and/or investment opportunities
- Prepare and deliver executive presentations with insights of M & A, business development, and investment opportunities to strategically meet growth objectives
- Perform analytical/strategic-thinking and ingenuity to help design and execute qualitative and quantitative research for studying business issues & projects: market research, scenario planning, forecasting, business plan development, competitive intelligence, profitability, etc.
- Conduct qualitative and/or quantitative analyses/modeling using inputs such as internal data, research studies, stakeholder perspectives, and external reports and benchmarks; construct financial models and spreadsheet analysis for underwriting and due diligence activities
- Run standard and/or customized data reports; create decision support tools such as utilization models-primarily descriptive in nature; profiles and assessments of market trends; profiles and assessments of new markets; profiles and assessments of competitors and complementors to inform business decisions
- Apply a broad knowledge of business concepts and analytical principles to develop analytical frameworks, approach and methodology best practices to analyze complex strategy issues

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field
- 3+ years equity research, investment banking or investment management experience
- Quantitative and qualitative analytics experience; identify strategic topics and their implications to develop strategic insights from data
- Exceptional strategic, analytical and critical thinking skills; put complex ideas into clear frameworks; use data to support strategic objectives and priorities
- Apply hypothesis-driven approach and structured problem solving
- Strong business acumen and structured thinking to assess business problems, identify relevant assumptions and stakeholders, and synthesize solution for relevant audiences
- Gather data from multiple, often disparate, sources; synthesize raw data into meaningful reports and presentation using Excel and PowerPoint
- Plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Resourceful: intuitive understanding of how/where to get information and apply it
- Knowledge of financial concepts such as discounted cash flow, financial statement analysis and financial forecasting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effectively converse with all levels of the company, customers, business associates
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
- None
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Previous experience in Rail Transportation, Supply Chain Logistics, Manufacturing and/or Oil and Gas industries
- MBA in Business Administration or related field
- Working experience of GIS systems and/or Google Earth

- CFA Designation

COMPENSATION
- Estimated Starting Annual Salary: $76,795
- Exact starting salary is determined by merit; seniority; geographic location; education, training, and/or experience related to job duties and responsibilities
- FLSA Status: Exempt, Not Eligible for Overtime
- Eligible for Participation - Annual Discretionary Bonus
