Join BlueLinx as a Senior Compensation Analyst!

BlueLinx is looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Senior Compensation Analyst to join our Total Rewards team. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Total Rewards to design, deliver, and administer compensation strategies that enhance and evolve our programs. You’ll provide advanced analytical insight and project support, playing a key role in compensation benchmarking, job evaluations, pay equity analysis, and annual planning cycles. Your work will directly contribute to a competitive, equitable, and effective total rewards strategy that supports the attraction, retention, and engagement of top talent.

What You’ll Do:

As a Senior Compensation Analyst, you will play a critical role in driving data-informed compensation decisions and enhancing our overall Total Rewards strategy. Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with the Total Rewards team in the design, implementation, and management of base pay, variable/bonus pay, and sales incentive compensation programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct advanced statistical analyses and generate reports to support market studies, trend analysis, and compensation program development.
  • Perform job evaluations, participate in compensation surveys, and conduct market pricing, internal equity assessments, and salary planning.
  • Identify compensation-related issues and collaborate with managers to recommend effective, compliant solutions.
  • Analyze external market data to assess the organization’s competitive positioning and inform pay strategies.
  • Support the implementation of a new compensation system, including the delivery of annual Total Rewards and Compensation Statements.
  • Administer the Short-Term Incentive Plan (STIP) and partner with the compensation team on the administration of Long-Term Incentive Plans (LTIP) and sales incentive programs.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners to support union contract administration, including compensation adjustments following labor negotiations.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in compensation, with a solid understanding of compensation principles and practices
  • At least 3 years of experience in data analysis or analytics
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas, data modeling)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and apply internal controls, standards, and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to apply logical thinking and deductive reasoning to solve problems and make data-driven recommendations
  • Hands-on experience with compensation administration and Total Rewards programs
  • Experience with HRIS systems administration and generating reports (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant tools and technologies
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and planning skills

Preferred Skills

  • PHR, SPHR, or CCP certification
  • Experience implementing or administering Sales incentive and/or LTIP programs
